Updating boot camp 2 1
This means that you can now install Windows 10 to fully replace Mac OS X.You get to experience all the goodies Windows 10 has to offer without the worry of any hardware that may or may not work. While in Windows, do a Right-Click on the Boot Camp Tray Icon - choose About Boot Camp and see if the version reported is 2.1.While in Windows you can use the 'Apple Software Update' to see if there are any updates avaiable. I may wait until Snow Leopard is released and just reinstall everything.Go back and boot into Mac OS X again, and get the latest Boot Camp software. Now your Windows 10 should contain all the drivers to fully support and run smoothly on your Mac hardware.
When you have bought your Mac Book later than this and your OSX Leopard DVD already is at version 10.5.6, then chances are that you already have installed the 2.1 version of the Boot Camp Drivers from the DVD and don't need to run the BCUpdate 2.1 .
I have also installed Windows 7, and Ubuntu on their own partitions.
Win7 actually works without Apple's drivers, but the sound doesn't work, nor the i Sight.
For what it's worth, Win7 is actually better than Vista. 🙂 Although Ubuntu with the KDE desktop is a lot better than Windows.
Now then, if I can find a replacement to Toast, either on Ubuntu or Windows, I'll be a happy camper!
